Wendy was born and raised in New Hampshire where she converted a stunning 19th century Pennsylvania-Dutch barn. It was there she raised her son. Later, she spent years as owner and operator of The Twig Restaurant, bringing local produce and musicians to the same place.
Her heart has always belonged to New England, but she brings experience and skills from places like Ireland and Indonesia. After her son went off to college, Wendy travelled and found a second home on the island of Culebra in Puerto Rico where she was the founder of Pedal Power, a small, eco-friendly bike rental operation out of the back of a repurposed VW van. While there, fate wove onto her path a small, sea-salted caramel with four legs named “Miss Lucy” (see photo). Together they chatted their way back home to New England, with an eye on building another forever home for themselves.
Whether it’s the season of rhubarb and peepers, or of pumpkins and bonfires, Wendy loves sharing with guests everything the gorgeous grounds and surrounding area has to offer. She grows many of the items you’ll find in your breakfast. Her friendships and working relationships with local farmers, artists, and business owners extend to her guests.
You’ll have a hard time finding a more committed innkeeper, and an even harder time finding a cuter dog to greet you
